Its open to all abilities and we’ll do our best to tailor your sessions to your preferences. Our friendly and helpful instructors are always on hand to help with anything you need.
About Us… ‘Sister Drift’
Two sisters born in Lancashire but raised in Cumbria. We’ve always had a passion for all things sporty but this soon became more water-focused as Lake Windermere became our new home. It all began with an idea and an idea was all it was, until it became a reality. We’ve always been each others biggest supporters and so it only made sense that in our next adventure, we were going to be partners. For the first few years of living in the lakes, we relied on the thrill of going fast behind a boat, whether that be wakeboarding or surfing but after being introduced to paddle boarding, we now have a new found love for the still and calmness it brings with it; allowing us to slow down and appreciate whats on our door-step. That being said, get a group of friends together and we have the most fun with never-ending chit chat, watching the sun rise or set over one of the most beautiful places. So, now is the right time for us to share with you a little slice of what life looks like through Lucy and Hannah’s eyes and we want to do this by allowing you to experience the lake from one of our paddleboards.
Meet the team…
Lucy has worked alongside her dad in conservation for a few years, before being given the opportunity to live out her dreams of working on the lake. Growing up, she has enjoyed taking part in multiple sports but being in the water has always been one of her favourites. She loves the relaxation and pleasure that comes with surfing, meaning she became intrigued in the trend of paddle boarding when she found it shared the same aspects. This led to her acquiring a BC SUP Instructor award and an ASI safety and rescue qualification so she could do all things paddle.
Hannah is 18 years old and has recently finished her Level 3 outdoor education course at Kendal college, where she acquired her BC SUP Leadership award and paddlesport safety and rescue. Any spare time that she finds in her busy schedule, is spent outdoors. There’s a range of activities that she likes to get involved in; from hockey and running to spending time out on the lake with friends and family, doing all things water sports. She’s the most friendly and outgoing of the team and is passionate in creating the same memories that she gets to experience, for others.
Emma is mum to the two sisters and has always been on hand to advise and support in whatever they’re doing. Having been in the fitness industry herself from the age of 19, she has seen the change and evolution in a wide variety of sports. After moving to the Lakes, she became keen to get involved with anything lake orientated, whether it be open water swimming and cold water dipping or enjoying the odd little wake surf. She discovered her passion for paddle boarding whilst travelling around Europe and thought it only made sense to become qualified in all asepcts of the sport.
